Because it isn't as buoyant you get more contact with the water and can ride with a smaller fin or even no fin at all making it easier to break free for shuvit style tricks. This shape comes with tail rocker for more control while in the forward position and is less likely to dunk the nose riding switch. Less weight equals added rotation on your tricks, and the thinner profile sits even deeper for more natural board control.
